Very Accurate Front End Loader Scales from Instant Weighing
Applying the principles behind load cell temperature compensation, Instant Weighing has found a way to better compensate for the temperature changes that the front end loader experiences during its day of operating.
Temperature changes are experienced during the cycle of day and night, and with the starting and stopping of a front end loader during its daily operation. Ambient temperatures in the NW changes greatly between day times and night times.
Comparison of load weight
In the following example the front end loader is parked up while awaiting for the next road-train to arrive, as each road-train driver loads themselves.
Our client obtains the load’s weight using the COMPULOAD scale to load their 4 trailer road trains to haul ore 400kms -500kms to port.
The second load weight is obtained by the port authority as they load the ship, and the following comparison of weights were recorded.
The COMPULOAD scale recorded a total weight of the ore transported as 18,800t.
The port authority recorded a difference of just 37t. That is an error of 1/5 of 1%.
The COMPULOAD scale recorded a total weight of the ore transported as 20,070t.
The port authority recorded a difference of just 48t. That is an error of 1/4 of 1%.
COMPULOAD ability to temperature compensate has saved our customer substantial wear and tear of their equipment and expense to fulfil their contract.
There is an additional cost of about $1,600.00 plus GST to incorporate this modification for a new or existing COMPULOAD scale (excluding any travel), but the results justifies this expense.
As a side issue, the COMPULOAD scale is programmed with specific target weights for each individual identified axle group to stop the operator overloading.
